Harvard 2963 Recovery – Update #1 2017

Work to recover the remains of Harvard 2963 began in 2016 with the raising of a handful of the smaller items.  Conservation efforts were immediately undertaken on these items to determine the scope of work and the feasibility of recovering the remaining pieces.  With the efforts of No.6 RCAF Dunnville Museum and assistance of the Canadian Conservation Institute the recovered items have been cleaning up to a better than expected level.

Members of the CHAA Aircraft Recovery Team visited the No. 6 RCAF Dunnville Museum in March to view the conservation progress and to assist in identification of the recovered items.  Discussions were also held related to additional recovery efforts.  Further recovery efforts under Ministry license will continue in the Summer of 2017.
